Can the hundredfold return apply to the tithe?

The biblical promise of a hundredfold return is for sowing seed of any offering you give. But does it also apply to giving your tithe?
Actually, the tithe is a specific commandment from the Lord and carries its own blessing with it. This is a blessing that is separate from the blessing we receive when we sow an offering, which is over and above the tithe:
“Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field...And all nations shall call you blessed: for you shall be a delightsome land” (Malachi 3:10-12).
The tithe is different from an offering. The tithe is the first 10 percent God commands us to give on the gross of all our income—offerings are above and beyond that. After you tithe, you can sow seed and expect to receive the hundredfold return on that seed.
The great thing about seed-faith giving is not only can we sow financially, but we can sow in other areas of our lives. We read about the blessing on offerings and other gifts above the tithe in Galatians 6:7-10.
We encourage you to commit the tithe to the Lord and then trust Him to provide you with good seed to sow, whether it’s a financial seed, a kind word, a gift of service or an act of obedience. God will multiply the seed you sow! Jesus said in Luke 6:38 that if you give, “it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”
